Obituary for William G. Peters
Brimfield- William G. Peters, age 81, of Brimfield, passed away at 11:06 PM on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
Born August 12, 1938 in Peoria, he was a son of George and Mary (Vegich) Peters. William was a graduate of Spalding High School and went on to attend Lewis University. On February 6, 1971 he married Mary Flora and together they cherished 48 years of marriage. William worked as a foreman for Keystone until his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Kickapoo, Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree, and the Itoo Society. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and brother.
He was the precinct committeeman for the Planning and Zoning Committee of Rosefield Township. He loved his family and showed them everyday. He loved fishing and spent many family vacations in Wisconsin. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife Mary of Brimfield; three children: Jennifer Peters of Peoria, George (DeAnna) Peters of Peoria and Sam Peters of Brimfield; two grandsons: William Peters of Aurora and Trent (Karissa) Peters of Elmwood; two great-grandchildren: Adrianna and Marley Peters; one sister JoAnn (Kevin) Bandle of Peoria; three nephews: Phillip and John Bandle and Andy Orrison; as well as one niece Amy Orrison.
William was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Daniel and David Peters, and his great-grandson Jett Peters.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 9:30 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Kickapoo. Father Joe Dondanville will officiate and cremation rites will be accorded following services.
Memorials in William’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s Church in Kickapoo.
