PEORIA - Mary Ann Ziegele, 77, of Peoria passed away at 11:55 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Mary Ann was born on September 22, 1936, in Peoria to Dr. Garnet Milton and Hazel (Perkins) Frye. She married Jon R. Ziegele on August 22, 1959, in Peoria. He survives. She is also survived by her son, Jon (Carrie) Ziegele of Brookfield, Wis.; her daughter, Susan (Ed) Duran of Peoria; and five grandchildren, Michael (Sara) Ziegele, Stephen (fiancée, Nicole Haska) Ziegele, James Ziegele, Mark Duran, and Katherine Duran. Mary Ann received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, Junior League of Peoria, Methodist Service League, and P.E.O., Peoria Symphony Guild, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Girl Scout Council Board. She was also a longtime member of the IVY Club. Mary Ann had a love of Christmas and spent months setting up her Department 56 Snow Village, along with many Christmas trees and countless decorations in her beautiful home. Her other love was spending summers at the family cabin in Sioux Narrows, Ontario, Canada. She also loved spending her winters on Sanibel Island, Fla. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Resurrection Mausoleum. Rev. Patricia Stetson-Warning will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
