PEORIA-Clarence B. “Red” Troy, age 89, of Peoria passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Bel-Wood Nursing Home. Born on May 20, 1917 in Rutland, IL to George D. and Catherine Barclay Troy. He was the fond husband of M. Jeanne Cone. They were married on August 31, 1940 in Peoria. She survives. He was the loving father of his two daughters that also survive, Judy (Donald E.) Dean of Bartonville and Maryann (Fred M.) Nau of Mapleton; one son, Gerald F. Troy; he enjoyed his four grandsons, Gregory S. Dean of Bartonville, Craig S. (Tammy) Dean of Iowa, Shawn P. (Erika) Dean of Farmington and Chris M. (Sherri) Nau of Bartonville; 9 great-grandchildren and two nephews, Bill and Jim Troy both of Peoria. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister. He was a carpenter working out of Local #183 for more than 60 years. He was a World War II Navy veteran with the Seabees. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #4333 St. Jude Council and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a very spirited die hard Cub Fan. A Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Ann Church with Rev. Terry Cassidy officiating. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary with a Scripture Service at 2:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes before the mass at church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Knights of Columbus #4333 St. Jude Council or St. Anne’s Church.
