Obituary for Roger G. Weber

Roger G. Weber, age 88, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.


Roger was born on August 27, 1934 in Normal, IL, a son of Ralph and Clara (Arteman) Weber. He married Beverly Gooding on August 13, 1960 in Colfax, IL. She survives. Also surviving are their children, Deb (Dan) Halvorson of Bradenton, FL, Todd (Kim) Weber of Heyworth, IL, and Sheri Weber of Houston, TX, five grandchildren, Natalia, Anna, Alese (Michael), Mara, and Kyle, as well as siblings, Kenneth Weber, Terry (Pat) Weber all of Bloomington, IL and Marilyn Heisler of Mobile, AL.


He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Donna Peine and one brother, Duane Weber.


Roger and Beverly lived in Roanoke for 36 years, before moving to the Peoria area in 2000. Roger graduated from Illinois State University in 1960 and spent 11 years teaching and coaching at Roanoke-Benson Junior High. More recently, he owned and operated Kwik Kopy Printing in Peoria for 21 years. During that time, he served as Chairman of the Kwik Kopy Owners/National Vendors Contract Committee. He also conducted numerous site searches for the Kwik Kopy Corporation in preparation for openings of new franchise locations in various states. Following the sale of the business in 2004, Roger served as a Family Counselor with the Catholic Cemetery Association of Peoria.


Roger and Beverly are members of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, where they both served as Eucharistic Ministers. He was active in the Peoria Cursillo movement where he served as a Board Member on the Diocesan Secretariat and later, a three-year term as the Diocesan Lay Director. He also served two terms on the Peoria Easter Seals Board of Directors. In later years, Roger enjoyed volunteering at Proctor Hospital.


Roger was an avid golfer and a member of the Saturday Morning Golf League at Kellogg Golf Course.


Visitation will be at Wright & Salmon Mortuary on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 5-7 PM, with a Recitation of the Rosary at 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 12 PM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with a half hour prior visitation. Fr. Thomas Taylor will officiate and Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria, IL.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peoria Cursillo and Peoria Easter Seals.
