Obituary for Lewis "Dutch" Thomas
Lewis E. “Dutch” Thomas, 98, of Peoria, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 9:40 pm at The Bickford House.
Born July 23, 1924 in Peoria to Joseph and Dorothy Budisalich Thomas, he married Agnes S. “Sally” Lencosky on July 18, 1959 in Duquesne, PA. She preceded him in death on May 24, 2013 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by 6 brothers and 1 sister.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Dutch had worked for 15 years for Hyster and later for Caterpillar, Inc. for 24 years as an experimental grinder.
He had built several houses in his lifetime and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Peoria.
A private Mass will be Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Resurrection Mausoleum chapel. Father Thomas Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
