Obituary for Lanetta Leeds

Peoria- Lanetta Leeds, age 77, of Peoria, passed away at 4:23 AM on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Unity Point Methodist Hospital.

Born January 26, 1946 in Cone, TN, a daughter to Randolph Lee and Mary Lee (Drone) Eddlemon. She was educated in Waynesville, MO graduating with the class of 1971. On August 18, 1963 she married Franklin L. Leeds, Sr. in Peoria and together they cherished 46 years until his passing on July 1, 2010. Lanetta worked many years as a service clerk for UFS. She was always laughing, and her spirit pulled people to her. Lanetta was an honest and true soul who was never afraid to share her opinion in a respectful manner. She was known to have a superb green thumb that could grow anything, especially beautiful flower gardens. Lanetta enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband during his military years, but her most prized accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother and great grandmother. Living a very simple life Lanetta always believed you never say goodbye but simply goodnight.

Survivors include her two children: Yevett Smith of Peoria and Frank (Andy Jackson) Leeds Jr. of Bethlehem, GA; two granddaughters: Jessica Prescott and Jonella Prescott both of Peoria; and five great-grandchildren: Adam, Colin, Lexiie, Olivia and Aaliyah.

Lanetta was preceded in death by her parents, husband Franklin, and three children in infancy.
