Obituary for Robert W. Bach

Please join the Bach family in celebrating the life an unforgettable man, Rob Bach. We know that he would not want us to dwell on the sad but instead remember the good. It is with that intention that we ask you to join us Friday June 18, 2021 starting at 5:00 p.m. for an open house celebration at Mt. Hawley Country Club. Please join us in raising a glass to say goodbye in the way that he would have wanted, by celebrating together.

Peoria-Robert W. Bach, of Peoria, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Monday, May 17, 2021.
Rob was born on September 22, 1952 in Lexington, KY to Hager and Dorothy (Brown) Bach. Rob is survived by his wife Martha (Collins) Bach, two sons Jeffrey (Michelle Todd) Bach of Oak Park, IL and Nathan (Nicole) Bach of Peoria and one daughter Elizabeth (Ryan) Cushing of Elmhurst , 7 grandchildren, Benjamin and Claire Bach, Alison and Katherine Bach, and Matthew, Morgan and Nathan Cushing, as well as two sisters, Cynthia (Larry) Tilly of St. Louis, MO and Lucinda (Jonathon Olsson) Bach of Alexandria, VA.
Rob was a graduate of Peoria High School, Bradley University and St. Louis University School of Law and practiced law in Peoria for over 40 years with most of that time as a sole practitioner. Rob was an avid golfer and served on the Board of Directors for the Chicago District Golf Association as well as serving as a board member and president of Mt. Hawley Country Club, a place near and dear to his heart. He loved to travel and his yearly trip to Key West, FL was always a highlight. He also loved his vacation home in Diamondhead, MS.
Rob was always quick with a joke and left an impression on anyone he met. He was a fan of the St . Louis Cardinals and Bradley Braves but his biggest passion was his family for whom he always supported and protected. Rob loved spending time with his family and his dogs and his Thanksgiving Eve gatherings are not easily forgotten.
A private family memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Cremation Rites have been accorded and burial of ashes will take place in the columbarium at St. Paul’s Church Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place this summer at Mt. Hawley Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hager W. Bach Scholarship Fund through Bradley University or the American Cancer Society.
