Obituary for Rosemary Crismore
PEORIA – Rosemary Crismore, 91, of Peoria passed away at 10:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, at Buehler Home.
Rosemary was born on March 22, 1925, in Lafayette, Ind., to the late Andrew John and Leota (Akers) Zeller. She married Basil “Cris” Crismore on Nov. 25, 1948, in Lafayette. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1973.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Lynette Grawey) Crismore of Orlando, Teresa (Deacon Michael) Vandiver of Wallace, N.C., Michael (Debra Kriegshauser) Crismore of Peoria, Janet (Martin) Afzelius of Portland, Ore., Cheryl (James) Coughlin of Mooresville, N.C., and Patricia (T.J.) Spohnholtz of Riverside, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Rosemary was a registered dietician, working as director of dietary services at Proctor Hospital until her retirement in 1989. She graduated from Purdue University in 1945 and had an internship at Hines Veterans’ Hospital in 1946.
She was an avid volunteer and bridge player and loved her time at the beach.
A funeral Mass will be at noon Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Msgr. Jason Gray will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:30 to noon Friday prior to the Mass at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded following the Mass and burial of ashes will be in Chambersville Cemetery in Gosport, Ind.
Memorials may be made to St. Thomas School.
