Obituary for Rose M. Koller
PEORIA – Rose M. Koller, 89, of Peoria passed away at 9:25 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Rosewood in Peoria.
Rose was born on Dec. 15, 1926, in Princeville to the late Leo T. and Catherine A. (Weese) Hietter. She married Everett D. Kneer on May 2, 1949, at St. Mary of Woods in Princeville. He preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 1961. She married Robert R. Koller on Aug. 12, 1972, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24 2015.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Tom and Earl; one sister, Frances; one infant brother, Emmanuel; and two infant grandchildren, Sean and Emily.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Sandi) Kneer of Washington, Connie (Hal) McIntosh of East Peoria, and Deanna (Bob) Reeder of Bloomington; step-children, Susan (Jim) Juskiv of Washington, Ill., Bob (Lynn) Koller of Chillicothe, and Tim (Susan) Koller of Peoria; 16 grandchildren, Ryan, Michele, Bobby, Jake, Anna, Nick, Sean, Emily, Kevin, Joe, Randy, Chris, Tom, Molly, Ashley, and Kelly; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Rose worked at Washington Electric Company as a bookkeeper for five years. She made and sold crafts with her husband, Bob, for several years and for the past 20 years she has made many quilts for family and friends.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she was chairman of quilting for the past 10 years. She was also a member of their Mary and Martha Society. She volunteered for 20 years at the Knights of Columbus Hall selling food from the kitchen on bingo night.
Rose loved to go to the Paradice and work in her yard. She also liked to play bingo.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Franciscan Friars will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday prior to the Mass at the church. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or Holy Family Catholic Church.
