Obituary for Violet L. Roese
PEORIA HEIGHTS – Violet L. Roese, 87, of Peoria Heights passed away at 10:52 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
Violet was born on Nov. 17, 1928, in Springfield, Ill., to the late Glenn and Rose Irene (Courtney) Pillischafske. She married Howard Roese on Aug. 17, 1949, at First Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1985.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are three sons, Steven (Becky) Roese of North Carolina and Texas, Robert (Denise) Roese of Topeka, Ill., and Raymond (Kimberly) Roese of Washington, Ill.; Four grandchildren, Shondra (Daniel) Yubeta, Cory (Heidi) Roese, Meghan (Luke) Jackson, and Tyler (Laura) Roese; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Pat Kargacin of Pekin.
Violet worked at Caterpillar and later at two nursing homes as a cook prior to retiring.
She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was devoted to God and her family.
Cremation rites have been accorded and burial of ashes will be at a later date in Springdale Cemetery. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
