Obituary for William H. Keenan
William H. Keenan, age 90, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
Bill was born on March 29, 1932 in Peoria, a son of Thomas Emmett and Mary Estelle (Connelly) Keenan.
He married Thecla Aaron on October 16, 1954 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Peoria. She preceded him in death on June 21, 2021.
Bill honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Bill began his career working for Keenan Sporting Goods and for 20 years he worked as purchasing manager for Hyster. He finished his career working for Barett Industrial. William was known to have great BBQ skills, enjoyed fishing, playing and watching golf. He was a member of St. Bernard Men’s Club and Timberlake Country Club.
Surviving are two sons, Tim (Lesley) Keenan and Paul (Kim) Keenan, both of Peoria, as well as five grandchildren, Erin, TJ, Jeremy, Thomas, and Mary, and one great-grandson, Aaron.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Theresa Simmons and Kathleen Wukitsch, one brother Robert Keenan and one sister Delores Scovil.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 9:30 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Father William Miller will officiate and burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the OSF St. Francis Medical Center and Apostolic Christian Skyline staff for their loving care.
