Peoria- Vivienne F. Burek, age 92, of Peoria, passed away peacefully in her room on November 24, 2018 at Christian Buehler Home.

Born June 02, 1926 in Chicago, she was a to daughter to George and Florence (Odenbach) Hrusa. On September 11, 1948 she married Thomas Burek in Berwin, IL. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1985.

She is survived by her sons Thomas (Gaye) Burek of Galesburg, IL and George (Connie) Burek of Brimfield, and two daughters Theresa (Thomas) Segneri of Peoria, Debbie Burek of Dickerson, TX. Vivienne is also survived one sister Marge Tuider of North Riverside, IL. Vivienne had 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Vivienne practiced her Catholic faith her entire life and was a member of St. Thomas Parish in Peoria Heights, where she was a member of the Women’s Guild. Vivienne was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

The family would especially like to thank the staff and nurses at Buehler Home who cared for her in her final years.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 between the hours of 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Peoria Heights with an additional visitation being held 30 minutes prior to mass. Msgr. Jason Gray will officiate. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the chapel of Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL, followed by her burial at the cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, the family would ask the memorials be made in Vivienne’s name to her church, St. Thomas the Apostle in Peoria Heights.
