Obituary for Thomas Raymond Michael
Thomas Raymond Michael, Sr., 77, of Peoria, passed away at 7:43 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Born January 11, 1945, in Rock Island to George F. and Mildred (Barbier) Michael he married Carol Ann Pedrick on July 1, 1967 in Camden, NJ. She survives.
Also surviving are 3 children, Thomas (Patty) Michael, Jr., Stephen Michael and John (Dawn) Michael; several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Mary Kay (Ken) Hardwicke of Waupaca, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Thomas proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He started working at Caterpillar Inc. in 1968 as an engine assembler and retired in 1998. In his younger years, he enjoyed photography. He loved his garden and spending time on his computer. He was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
His funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Fr. Gregory Jozefiak will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Navy and the Interveterans Detail of Sangamon County.
Memorials contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriner’s Hospital of donor’s choice.
