PEORIA HEIGHTS– Thomas Carter Camper, 82 of Peoria Heights passed away on Friday, March 26th, at 4:30 a.m. at Unity Point Methodist of complications related to Covid 19 .
He was born on June 27, 1938, in Peoria to Charles H. and Verdalia Barnes Camper. He married Sharon Marie Reader on March 21st, 1960, in Peoria. She survives, along with his two sons, Thomas (Holly Sommer) Camper of Peoria, Mark (Laura) Camper of Carrollton, Georgia, daughter Karen Camper of Peoria, son in law Bill Witherell of Peoria, Nephew Steve (Cheryl) Reader of East Moline, Illinois, sister Anabelle (Bill) Giles of Varna, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many beloved nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three older brothers and his cherished youngest daughter Bethany Anne Witherell.
He retired from Caterpillar where he worked in the skilled trades as a machinist upon his completion of the apprenticeship program.
He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will take place at a later date. Burial of ashes will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery.
