Obituary for Teresa J. Walker
Teresa J. Walker, 93, of Peoria Heights, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28th at Proctor Hospital.
Teresa was born on December 13, 1929 in Peoria, IL, a daughter of Anthony and Catherine (Gardner) Kelch. She married Willard C. “Woody” Johnson in 1950. He preceded her in death in 1970. She later married Arthur Walker. He proceeded her in death in 2012.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine, Virginia, and Mary, and four brothers, Don, Bob, Jack and Ed.
Surviving are one son, Chip (Patty) Johnson of Peoria Heights, one daughter, Pennie (Steve) Schachtrup of Peoria, five grandchildren, Amy Johnson, Sarah Johnson Huenefeld, Christopher Schachtrup, Stephanie Schachtrup Coad, and Timothy Schachtrup, and seven great grandchildren, Audrey, Geoffrey, Ivy, Claire, Peter, Ellie, and Nora.
Teresa’s greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was especially fond of constantly feeding them. Her specialities included pork chops, hash, and spaghetti and meatballs. Her most beloved hobby was frequenting and having garage sales. She had perfected her technique to the master level. She was beloved for her humor. With wit laced throughout her speech, she was always ready to respond with a quip or tell one of her favorite jokes. Her wit and tenacity prevailed to the very end. Her legacy continues in the hearts of her loved ones.

Cremation Rites have been accorded and will be followed by a private memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or Make a Wish Foundation.
