Obituary for Steven F. Roth
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Steven F. Roth, age 62, announces his passing at 12:30 am on March 19th, 2023.
Steve was born September 23, 1960, in Peoria Illinois, and was adopted by William and Verneita (Ingles) Roth. Steve was raised and educated in Peoria where he graduated from Manual High School, class of 1979. He was a beloved husband to the love of his life, Donna Abraham, who he married on November 4th, 1989. Together they cherished 33 years. He was also a loving uncle to his niece and nephew, Nick and Karissa Koval.
Steve was a passionate fan of the Boston Bruins, and was renowned for his great storytelling and hilarious jokes. His contagious laughter left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He had a kind heart and a dedication to helping others. Having worked in social services at EP!C for 35 years, Steve devoted his time in caring for the residents whom he served. His lifelong friends Mike Cheeseman, Dan Koeppel and James Richmond, who were like brothers to him , shared countless memories. Steve will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. He had a kind and generous spirit and will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his infectious laughter. May he rest in peace.
Survivors include his wife Donna Roth of Peoria; sister-in-law Lisa (Jon) Koval of East Peoria; nephew Nicholas Koval of East Peoria and niece Karissa Koval of East Peoria
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Albert (Marie) Abraham
Cremation rites have been accorded per Steve’s wishes. A memorial visitation will take place at Wright & Salmon Mortuary on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 10:00 AM until time of memorial service at 12:00 PM. Father David Richardson will officiate.
Preferred memorials in Steve’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Easter Seals.
