Obituary for Stanley R. Wojda

Mapleton- Stanley R. Wojda, 67, of Mapleton, died on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 8:38 a.m. at his residence. Born October 8, 1942, in Yonkers, NY. to Stanley and Jennie Smigelski Wojda, he married Josephine Mytych on October 2, 1965 in Yonkers. She survives, along with three sons: Robert (Kelly) Wojda of Edelstein, Steve (Jennie) Wojda of DeKalb, and Jim (Michelle) Wojda of Bloomington. One grandchild, Danny also survives. Stanley was a Marine Veteran, serving during peacetime. He was a self employed graphic artist, graduating from The Phoenix School of Design. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bartonville, and was strongly involved in the church’s Religious Education Program. He also served as past Scout Master for Scout Troop 56, and was active in scouting in New York. Stanley also served as past president of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, 10 a.m. at his church, with Fr. Terry Cassidy and Deacon Louis Tomlianovich officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with a scripture service at 7:45 p.m. Further visitation will be a half hour prior to the mass on Wednesday. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Building Fund. Tributes and condolences may be submitted to www.wrightandsalmon.com.
