Obituary for Shirley M. Knutt

Shirley M. Knutt, age 82, passed away at 3:15 AM, Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Farmington Country Manor.

Shirley was born February 7, 1936 in Speedwell, TN., a daughter to Robert H. and Rhoda J. (McCarty) Suttles. She married Bobby “Bob” D. Knutt on June 26, 1954 in LaFollette, TN. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1998 in Peoria, IL.

Shirley was a sales clerk at Bergner’s and also worked at Great Central Insurance Co., for many years. She was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinal fan an enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was devoted to her family and her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters; Gale (Jim) Ludolph of Brimfield and Penny (Douglas) Evans of Speedwell, TN., two sons; Dee Knutt of Mapleton and Scott (Maria) Knutt of Peoria, four grandchildren; Jennifer Ludolph and Eric Ludolph, Heather Bowlin and Matthew Knutt, six great-grandchildren; Shelby Ludolph and Morgan Ludolph, Hunter Knutt and Freddy Knutt, and Bentley and Selena Bowlin. Six sisters also survive; Ruby Leach, Verdi Hill, Nellie Reeder, Sallie Berry, Barbara Wells, Kathryn Hill and sister-in-law, Verda Suttles.

She was preceded in death by five siblings; Hodge, John D., Richard, Mack, and Linda Fay Suttles.

A private family graveside service will be held and burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
