Obituary for Sharon K. Jokhy
Sharon K. Jokhy, 77, of Peoria, passed away at 11:43 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born July 24, 1945 in Washington, IL to Alex and Sue (Weinstein) Sekeres, she married Parvez “Joe” Jokhy on July 10, 1971 in Peoria. He died April 4, 2008 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her brother, Alex Sekeres and her sister, Sandra Sekeres.
Surviving are her sons, Dr. Brian (Kimberly) Jokhy of Rockford and Lt. Col. Michael (Jamie) Jokhy USAF, Ret. of North Pole, Alaska. She also leaves five grandchildren, Alex, Brayden, Sophia, Lillian and Kaitlynn, several nephews and one niece.
Sharon worked as a secretary for her husband’s business, PNJ Enterprises.
An active member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Peoria, Sharon enjoyed helping with Parish Buddies, funeral luncheons, the Homebound Ministry and was a Eucharistic minister.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2022 at St. Jude Hettinger Hall. Father Patrick Henehan will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Hettinger Hall. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the hall. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Jude Parish.
