Obituary for Sharon Ann Kennedy
Bartonville- Sharon Ann Kennedy, age 77, of Bartonville, passed away at 8:00 AM on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Heritage Health surrounded by her family.
Born September 18, 1940 in Peoria, she was a daughter to Albert and Irma (Waller) Gavelys. On June 11, 1968 she married Tom Kennedy in Peoria. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1997. Sharon loved to watch wrestling and cooking shows. She enjoyed gambling and in her earlier years was an avid bowler. Sharon was a loving mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, and sister who cherished times spent with her family and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include 5 children: Marcia (Paul) Draper of Bartonville, Mike Kennedy of Tennessee, Karen (Michael) Nicholson of Marquette Heights, IL, Pam (Mark) Cravens of Bartonville, and Pat Kennedy of Washington, IL; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Tony (Janis) Gavelys of East Peoria and John (Kathy) Gavelys of Surprise, AZ; as well as, three sisters: Phyllis Ellison of Bellevue, IL, Connie (LeRoy) Wiseman of Bellevue, IL, and Sandy (Bob) Dorethy of Minnesota.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Casey Kennedy and one daughter Kim Melton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 12:00 PM until time of funeral services at 1:00 PM at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in West Peoria.
