Rubie Louise (Gillogly) Crawmer, 93, of Peoria, IL passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Buehler Home.

Rubie was born on December 18, 1927 in Brems, IN, the daughter of Earnest and Blanche Gillogly. She grew up in and around Brems (Knox), IN. In high school she played the clarinet in the band and in a quartet. She also enjoyed being in the school plays. During the summer she worked at the Ice Cream Parlor and in the winter she loved ice skating and sledding at the local park. Rubie attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. She married Haskell William “Bill” Crawmer on March 18, 1949. Rubie and Bill spent most of their married life in Peoria, IL. Rubie was an amazing Mom to Dan, Jeff and Judy.

She loved to help and serve others in need. Rubie taught Sunday school and served in many areas at Forrest Hill United Methodist Church in Peoria. She also served as the head chef for over 25 years at Northwest United Methodist Church Daycare, taught the children's bible time and directed the end of year play. Rubie also volunteered by baking in the kitchen for many years at the South Side Mission in Peoria, IL. Rubie and Bill traveled several times to Honduras and Haiti on work and witness missions. Rubie was a very accomplished seamstress and won many awards and ribbons at the Heart of Illinois Fair. One of the favorite memories of all family members were her delicious cookies and memorable pies with her tasty and flaky pie crusts. One of her true loves was spending time with all of her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Jeff (Carol) Crawmer of Peoria, her daughter Judy (Michael) Anderson of Ames, IA, Nancy Crawmer (Dan's wife) of Champaign, IL, 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Because of her faith in Christ, Rubie is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Bill, her son Dan, daughter-in-law Kathy Crawmer, her granddaughters Brooke
Crawmer-Joseph and Naomi Anderson, her parents and brothers Gust Kenneth, and Alvin Gillogly.
