Obituary for Rosemary Kelly Hills

Peoria -- Rosemary Cicciarelli Kelly Hills, 73, of Peoria, passed away at 1:10 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2012, at Proctor Hospital. She was born in Streator, Ill., on July 20, 1938 to Maurice and Helen (Ippolito) Cicciarelli. A lifelong Francophile and former French teacher, Rosemary worked in residential real estate for over 35 years. She earned her Master's from Iowa State University after graduating from Rosary College in River Forest, Ill., where she majored in French. While at Rosary, she spent her junior year studying abroad in Fribourg, Switzerland. An opera aficionado and music lover, Rosemary was a supporter of the arts. She was a long-time member of Les Amis de France. Rosemary had a host of loving friends. She was a free spirit and lived a life with no borders. Rosemary is survived by a daughter, Lisa (Philippe) Boet of Naples, Fla.; two sons, Chris (Estelle) Kelly of New York, NY, and Brennan (Khim) Kelly of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada; six grandchildren, Isabella, Audrey, Danielle, Camille, Tess, and Dillon; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Hills of Peoria; a sister, Helene Flanigon of Peoria; a sister-in-law Pat Cicciarelli of Peoria; and a brother James (Mary) Cicciarelli of Los Angeles, Calif. Rosemary married Thomas A. Kelly in December 1961, in Peoria. He preceded her in death in August, 1996, in Naples, Fla. She married Jack Hills in June 1988, in Peoria and he passed away in May 2003, in Peoria. Also preceding her were her parents; a sister, Eleanor Cicciarelli; and a brother, Maury Cicciarelli. A Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites accorded. Arrangements are by Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Catholic Church Building Fund.
