Rosemary Marshall, age 97, of Peoria, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2018.
She was born on October 27, 1920 in Washington, Indiana to Nolan and Cordia Jones. She married Lloyd A. Marshall in Bicknell, Indiana on December 29, 1945. She was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by her three sons, Doug Marshall (Carol) in Peoria, Dave Marshall (Jody) in Brownsburg, Indiana and Tom Marshall (Kim) in Mansfield, Texas. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Scott Marshall (Kirstin), Emily Marshall, Kara VanderLaan (Ross), Kyle Marshall (Erin), Amy Calloway (Jeff), Robin Warman (Brandon) and Lindsey Marshall. Also surviving are 12 great grandchildren: Taylor, Maddie and Alayna Marshall, Andrew and Alex VanderLaan, Charles, Everett and James Marshall, Avery and Oliver Calloway, and Josephine and Holden Warman. Rosemary will be remembered as the quintessential loving grandmother. Her grandchildren were the greatest joy and delight in her life.
Rosemary was a member of First Baptist Church for 63 years and enjoyed a lifetime of friendships through her many church activities and board participation. After owning a beauty shop for many years, raising her boys, and volunteering in their schools, Rosemary continued to be an active volunteer and for many years served on the Friendship House Auxiliary Board. As an avid bridge player until age 94, Rosemary had earned American Contract Bridge Masterpoints. She was a member and Past President of the Newcomers Alums Bridge group.
Rosemary’s family will honor her life in a private remembrance.
Memorials may be made in her name to First Baptist Church, Peoria, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
