Obituary for Robert Mousty

PEORIA-Robert Mousty, 87, of OSF Saint Clare Home in Peoria Heights died there at 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2009. He was born October 2, 1921 in Champaign, IL to Elmer and Buryl Horn Mousty. He married Laurel Anderson Mousty on June 22, 1947. He later married Edith Liddle Mousty on April 25 1960. She preceded him in death. On October 24, 1999, he married Barbara Trowbridge Mousty. Surviving is his wife of Peoria. He is also survived by two sons, Craig (Charlene) Mousty of Peoria and Branson Mousty of Cape Coral, FL; six daughters, Vicki (Richard) Klaas of Phoenix, AZ, Karen (James J.) Scime of Morton, IL, Cindy (Michael) Lingenfelter of Peoria, Tami Mousty of San Diego, CA, Jennifer Brown of Chicago, and Toni (Gregory) Pike of Jacksonville, IL; fourteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one step daughter, Cindy (Randy) Terrell of Bartonville and one step son, Ron (Cindy) Heaton of Glasford. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roy (Shirley) Mousty of Simpsonville, SC and one granddaughter, Melissa Lingenfelter. Robert Worked for Illinois Bell for 38 years, retiring in 1983. He owned and operated Mousty Telephone Service until retiring in 2002. Robert also worked and later operated Bob Mousty Snow Flocked Christmas Trees. Robert was a member of St. Bernard’s Church and Men’s Club. He also was a member of Peoria Area Telephone Retirees Club and Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a World War II US Marine veteran and fought in Guam and Tapei. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at St. Bernard Church with Rev. David Heinz officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary with a Scripture Service at 7:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes before the mass at the church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernard’s Church. Tributes and condolences may be submitted to
