Obituary for Robert Hahn
Robert D. Hahn, 85, of Peoria passed away at 9:47 p.m. at Heritage Manor in Normal, IL on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
Born January 17, 1937 in Peoria to Cletus Hahn and Lorretta (Weiler) Hahn.
Robert married Karen A. Luedtke on June 6, 1959 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Peoria, IL. She passed on September 9, 2021. Also preceding him in death is one brother, Leonard Hahn.
Surviving are five children, Gregory (Gail) Hahn of Mackinaw, Kevin Hahn of Pekin, Brian Hahn of Morton, Leanne (Michael) Rivan of Peoria, and David (Angela) Hahn of Vance, AL; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 14 step great- grandchildren; and 1 step great-great grandchild; two brothers Allen Hahn of East Peoria, and Ronald Hahn of Tennessee; two sisters, Joann Benisch of East Peoria and Marylou Sieks of Mapleton; and many nieces and nephews.
Robert attended St. John school and graduated from Spalding Institute. He attended Illinois Central College and Bradley University. He joined the apprentice program at Caterpillar and graduated from the four-year machinist course. Robert worked in the planning and tool design department. He had 43 years of service to Caterpillar. He was an usher at St. Vincent De Paul Church and a devoted parishioner at St. Johns, Holy Family and St. Vincent De Paul parishes.
He enjoyed his family immensely, loved to golf and was a Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He loved taking his family on camping trips to Michigan and Canada.
His funeral Mass will be at noon on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Father Stephen Willard will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.
