Obituary for Robert Anthony Arnold

PEORIA-Robert Anthony Arnold, 80 of Peoria, passed away at 1:23 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2007 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Born May 31, 1927 in Peoria to Russell and Alice Anthony Arnold. He married Anita Bartolo on May 25, 1949 in Peoria. She passed away on January 11, 1990 in Peoria. He later married Betty Lendman Segneri on March 5, 1991 in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Debbie (Bob) Stevens and Mary Jo (Scott) Vonachen both of Peoria, Suzanne (George) Jensen of LaGrange, IL and Karen (Dave) Masterson of Trophy Club, TX; one son, Michael (Sandy) Arnold of Edelstein; two step daughters, Lynn (Dan) Ebker of Streator and Teresa (David) Sills of Peoria; four step sons, David (Kris) Segneri of Carlock, Michael (Marie) Segneri of Tampa, FL, Thomas (Theresa) Segneri of Hoover, AL and Timothy (Lori) Segneri of Carlsbad, CA; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Ed) Pegg and Mary Ann O’Neill both of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Russell Arnold, one step son, Donald Segneri and one step daughter, Mary Elizabeth Segneri. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was owner of Reliable Plumbing since 1965, retiring in 1989. He was a member and Trustee of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, Lector, Sacristan, Altar Server and member of the funeral choir at his parish, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at OSF St. Francis Medical Center since 1985 and a member of the Cursillo-Tec Community. A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Thomas Church with Msgr. William Watson, Rev. Thomas Taylor and Rev. Daniel Ebker celebrating the mass. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the church with recitation of the rosary at 3:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be one hour before the mass at the church. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, Bob has requested that memorials be made to St. Thomas Building Fund.
