Obituary for Rita R. Reinhart
ELMWOOD - Rita R. Reinhart, 95, of Elmwood, passed away at 6:02 a.m., Friday, August 30, 2013, at Rosewood Care Center, East Peoria. Rita was born on February 11, 1918, in Brimfield to George and Rosella (Loescher) Cahill. She married Wilson M. Reinhart on October 12, 1940. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1997. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Fabian “Fab” and Roderick “Rod”. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia (Frank) Ori of Elmwood; six sons, Thomas (Olga) Reinhart of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX, James (Linda) Reinhart of Bella Vista, AR, Michael (Louise) Reinhart of Yates City, Timothy (Carol) Reinhart of Elmwood, formerly of Downers Grove, Dennis (Cynthia) Reinhart of East Peoria, and Nicholas (Kimberly) Reinhart of Zionsville, IN; seventeen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Rita attended Brimfield High School and was the valedictorian of the class of 1936. She later attended Browns Business School. She worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses, retiring in 1982 from General Piping Corporation of Peoria. Rita volunteered at Elmwood District Schools and Proctor Hospital, and was a hard-working and dedicated mother. She spent her winters in Texas until her husband, Wilson, passed away. Rita was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Elmwood. She was also a member and past president of St. Patrick’s Altar and Rosary Society. She was a charter member of Maple Lane Country Club of Elmwood. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Elmwood. Father Paul Stiene I.C. will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m., Monday, September 2, 2013, also at the church with recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. An additional visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Elmwood. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Elmwood or Elmwood Education Foundation.
