Obituary for Ricky A. Clutters

PEORIA-Ricky A. Clutters, 51, of 616 W. Kellar Parkway in Peoria, passed away at 12:55 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. He was born on December 26, 1957 in Staunton, IL to Richard and Jackie Barry Clutters. He married Christine Whalen on November 29, 1997 in Peoria. She survives. He is also survived by son, Rick Clutters of Washington, IL, daughter, Stephanie (Daniel) Thompson of Metamora, son, Johnny Clutters, of Washington, IL, daughter, Elizabeth Whalen of Peoria; mother and father-in-law, Joe and Sandy Whalen of Peoria; grandmother, Amy Ellen Schaefer of Staunton; two brothers, Randy Clutters of Vero Beach, FL and Ron (Diane) Barry of Washington, IL; one sister, Sue (Paul) Gordon of Washington, IL; one aunt, Sandy (Bob) Boettcher of Worden, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ricky was a driver for the American Red Cross. He was a US Army veteran, serving during peacetime for 10 years and then he served with the Army Reserve for 8 years. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #6707 Third Degree in Washington, IL, VFW and AMVETS in Peoria. A Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at St. Vincent de Paul Church with Msgr. Jason Gray officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours before the mass at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of ashes will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in West Peoria at a later date. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
