Obituary for Regina Faszczyk
Regina Faszczyk, 91, of Independence Village in Peoria, died on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at 8:55 a.m. at Proctor Community Hospital. Born August 27, 1921 in Kutno, Poland to Adama and Stanislawy Obreska Szatkowski, she married Mikolaj Faszczyk on March 29, 1948 in Hohenfels, Bavaria. He died in 1980 in Springfield, Ill. Several brothers and sisters also preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Dr. Stephen) Thompson of Peoria, 3 grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer Thompson of Peoria, Stephen (Casey) Thompson J.D. of St. Louis, MO., and Dr. Lauren Thompson of Springfield, Il. A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, 10 a.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, with Fr. Donald Henderson officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the mass on Wednesday at the church. A Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church.
