Obituary for Raymond A. Paar
PEORIA-Raymond A. Paar, 68, of Peoria, died at 8 AM, Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at his residence. He was born September 17, 1943 in Peoria to John and Catherine Farrah Paar. Raymond married Karen M. Boehle on June 7, 1969 in Dixon, IL. She died March 19, 2008 in Peoria. Also preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Joan Casey. He is survived by a son, Michael Paar of Peoria, a daughter, Kristine Hamann of Peoria, AZ, a brother, J. B. Paar of Peoria, and two grandchildren, Lanna Hamann and Lexie Ring. Raymond worked as a bricklayer for 40 years with the Bricklayers Local #6 of Illinois until retirement. He was an Army veteran earning the classification of marksman on the rifle team. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, the Izaak Walton League, and the Allendale Conservation Club. A Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM, Saturday, October 15 at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Rev. Christopher Layden officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Wright & Salmon Mortuary with a scripture service at 5:45 PM. Further visitation will be ½ hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to the Raymond Paar grandchildren’s education fund c/o CEFCU.
