Obituary for Phyllis Melgreen

Phyllis Kay (Neteler) Melgreen, age 88, of Peoria, formerly of Farmington, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018, at the Farmington Country Manor.

Born January 22, 1930, in Havana, she was the eldest daughter of Winslow E. Neteler and Dorothy L. (Reeve) Neteler. She married G. Frank Melgreen on June 17, 1950, in Havana. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2005, in Peoria.

Survivors include two children: Steven (Debbie) Melgreen of Yates City and Daphne (Terry) Weitzel of Sheridan, WY; a granddaughter, Frannie Weitzel of Sheridan, WY; a sister, Mary Ann Donaho of Canton and a brother; Gerald Neteler of Havana; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis loved spending time with her immediate and extended family. She enjoyed bird watching, family history and genealogical research. She was a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and St. Philomena Catholic Church.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018, at 10:00 AM at St. Philomena Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald Henderson will officiate. A family burial will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Runs or St. Philomena School.
