Obituary for Phyllis E. Wagner
Peoria- Phyllis E. Wagner, 88, passed away at 5:37 PM on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Hawthorne Inn in Peoria, IL.
Born June 10, 1928 in Eureka, IL, she was a daughter to Allen Claude and Mary Claudia Payne Ewing. Phyllis married the love of her life Melvin J. Wagner on October 23, 1948 in Kickapoo, IL. He preceded her in death on July 31, 2010.
Phyllis was a homemaker all her life, and enjoyed traveling with her husband, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. She was an avid gardener, and would often be found helping her grandchildren with their homework. Phyllis will always be remembered for her love and enjoyment of spending time with her family, especially for family get-togethers. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister who was dearly loved and will be truly missed.
Survivors include five children; Gary (Linda) Wagner of Sunnyland, IL, Janice (Edward) Cooper of Decatur, TX, Phillip (Delpha Lynn) Wagner of New Braunfels, TX, Dan Wagner of Peoria, IL, and Andy Wagner of Peoria, IL, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, one sister, Mary Anne Dawes of Peoria, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Bruce Wagner, one granddaughter, one great-grandson, and one brother.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2016 between the hours of 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Wright and Salmon Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Kickapoo, IL.
