Obituary for Peggy A. Kirchgessner
Peggy Ann Kirchgessner, 86, of Peoria, passed away April 15, 2023 at 3:10 p.m.
Peggy was born February 16, 1937 in Streator to Daniel and Ellen M. (Sturgeon) Sitzmore. She married John Bernard Kirchgessner.
Surviving are four children, Timothy (Sharon) Kirchgessner of Washington, Teresa Kirchgessner of Peoria, Stephen (Julie) Kirchgessner of East Peoria and Stacie Kirchgessner of Peoria; her grandchildren, LaTrista and Gabrielle Sims, Ingland and Kevin Wilkerson, Latrese and Sharese Kirchgessner, Dieuseul and Anna Francois, Bryce Kirchgessner, Heather Kirchgessner, Brad (Caitlin) Kirchgessner, Allisyn Kirchgessner, Kimber (Lewis) Caudle, Brian Bivens, Derek Bivens and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sisters, Betty Davis, Myra Myers, Walter Sitzmore and Rex Sitzmore.
Peggy was a loving mother, grandma, aunt, and wife. She loved spending time with her family and always looked forward to family gatherings and holidays. Peggy also enjoyed the years she worked at Illinois Bell, where she retired. She was an active member of Knights of Columbus. She also loved shopping and watching Seinfeld and Wheel of Fortune.
Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Father Stephen Willard will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Cremation will be accorded following services.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital of Illinois. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
