Obituary for Patrick H. Powers
Peoria- Patrick H. Powers, age 82, passed away 8:32 PM, Saturday, June 17, 2017 at his residence.
Born December 6, 1934, in Peoria, a son of Thomas and Bertha (Waller) Powers. He married Cheryl A. Kennel on May 31, 1958 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are four sons; Philip (Tammy) Powers of Wamego, KS., Daniel Powers of Peoria, Douglas Powers of Ocean Springs, MS., and Tony (Angie) Powers of Washington, IL., seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one brother, T.J. (Diane) Powers of San Antonio, TX.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, one brother, and one granddaughter.
Patrick worked maintenance at OSF St. Francis Medical Center until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and boating. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and St. Bernard’s Men’s Club and donated much of his time volunteering at the church. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother who will be truly missed.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM Friday, June 23, 2017 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, with a one hour prior visitation. Father James Pankiewicz will officiate. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be made to St. Bernard’s Catholic Church or Sophia’s Kitchen in Peoria.
