Obituary for Patrick E. Duggan

PEORIA-Patrick Eugene Duggan, 59, a resident of Danville, CA for 15 years, and formerly of Peoria was blessed to join his Heavenly Father on his 59th birthday at 8:48 a.m. on June 27, 2006, after a lengthy battle with Melanoma Cancer. Mr. Duggan was born on June 27, 1947 in Peoria to Jack E. and Mary H. Fleming Duggan. He was a graduate of Spalding Institute and Bradley University. He was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Marines. After serving with the Marines, he graduated from the University of Illinois with a Master’s Degree in Engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He was the owner of Investment Concepts in Danville for the past 20 years and was a longtime resident of Contra Costa County. He was actively involved in the University of Illinois Newman Center along with Monsignor William A. Watson and was a member of St. Isadora’s Catholic Church in Danville, CA for 24 years. He volunteered at San Damiano Monastery in Danville, CA. He traveled often to Ireland to visit his family and friends. Patrick is survived by his parents, Jack and Mary of Peoria, IL; sisters, Colleen Duggan of Prairie Village, Kansas, Maureen Duggan of San Ramon, CA, Kathleen Duggan O’Brien and her husband, Tom O’Brien of Dallas, Texas, Molly Duggan of San Ramon, CA; nieces and nephews; and dearest friend and loved one, Linda Bonechi of Walnut Creek, CA. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Philomena Church, 3300 N. Twelve Oaks Drive with Monsignor William A. Watson officiating. Visitation will be 30 minutes before the mass at the church. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at Camp Butler Cemetery in Springfield, IL. Memorial contributions may be made in Patrick’s name to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, the American Cancer Society or the San Damiano Monastery. Tributes and condolences may be submitted to
