Obituary for Patricia Jean Howard

PEORIA-Patricia Jean Howard, 91, of Peoria, completed this portion of life at 12:55 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Liberty Village in Peoria. She was born December 29, 1917 in Sandusky, Ohio to Frank and Florence Schneitter Smith. She married Dean C. Howard on May 26, 1945 in Sandusky, Ohio. She is survived by her husband; three sons, Timothy (Sandi) Howard of Laporte, Indiana, Thomas (Debra) Howard of Peoria and Theodore Scott Howard of Peoria; and two grandchildren. Patty was a 55 year member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she was ordained an Elder in 1977 and a Deacon in 1997. She was active in the Friendship Club and The Westminster Women’s Circle. She served as chair of the Iben Fund Committee. Patty also participated on the design committee for the rebuilding of the Sanctuary. She was an active member of the Moss-Bradley Home Owners Association, where she was a founding member of their Revolving Fund. Patty remained active as their chief financial officer from 1975 until 2000 and was a Board Member Emeritus. Patty also worked to help plan and create the Western Ave. Greenway Project. A Memorial Service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2009 with Rev. Anna Saxon officiating. A Visitation will take place from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be accepted by Westminster Presbyterian Church or the Moss-Bradley Home Owners Association.
