Obituary for Patricia F. Meyer

Patricia F. Meyer, 97, of Peoria, went home to spend Christmas with Jesus on December 3, 2022, at Liberty Village.

Pat was born on June 25, 1925 in Peoria, a daughter of Dwight F. and Pearl G. (Gabel) Ford. She married William “Bill” or “Ace” Meyer on January 26, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1999 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Pat loved her family and would go to Virginia and Colorado as often as she could to visit with her children and grandchildren. Even into her 90’s she went to the athletic events of her Peoria area grandchildren - cheering them on and encouraging them.

Pat attended Lake Forest College in Chicago and was in the Chi Omega Sorority. She was a member of Timberlake Country Club, where her golfing skills earned her the title of club champion on several occasions. Pat also golfed with the Ladies Golf League and the Peoria Women’s Club on Madison. She loved to share about her 2 holes in one, the first at Timberlake Country Club on a par 3 and another in Memphis, TN on a par 4.

In addition to her joy of golfing, she was a wonderful seamstress and also worked for many years at The School House. Pat also sold Beauty Counselor Makeup, working with the stewardesses at what was at the time, Ozark Airlines.
