Obituary for Parvez Jokhy

PEORIA-Parvez “Joe” Jokhy, 63 of Peoria, passed away at 1:09 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2008 at Methodist Medical Center ICU. He was born on April 8, 1944 in Ahmedabad, India to Nariman and Rati Jokhy. He married Sharon Sekeres on July 10, 1971 in Peoria. She survives. He is also survived by his mother, Rati Jokhy of Bombay; two sons, Dr. Brian (Kimberly) Jokhy of Rockford, IL and Captain, USAF Michael (Jamie) Jokhy, stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, NC; one grandchild, Alexander Brian Jokhy of Rockford; three sisters, Dilnavaz (Bomi) Dalal of Bombay, Khursheed (Shishir) Phansalkar of Bombay and Aban (Serin) Rao of Peoria; and several nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his father. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering and Physics in India and his Masters in Civil Engineering at Bradley University. He was employed by IDOT as a Civil Engineer and in 1986 he started his own business, PNJ Enterprises as a Highway Contractor and retired in 2006. Joe’s love of life was for his sons, their wives and his grandchild. He was fond of all the family pets and helped care for them. A Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Jude Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony Lee officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes before the mass at the church. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
