Obituary for Norina "Nona" Sinclair
Norina M. “Nona” Sinclair, 72, of Dunlap, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at OSF St Francis Medical Center.
She was born January 13, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA, to Vincent and Rose Passarelli Cartusciello.
They preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Jonathan (Tirsa) Sinclair of Springfield, Il., and Jason Sinclair of Los Angeles. Two granddaughters; one brother, Vince (Glenda) Cartusciello of Los Angeles; and one sister, Chris Cartusciello of Los Angeles.
Nona was an art teacher many years ago at John Thomas Dye School in Los Angeles.
She was a very active member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Peoria.
Nona was a member of the St. Jude Women’s Club, the Heritage Girls, participated in Adoration, supported the school, and served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.
She enjoyed preparing meals for the Priests at St. Jude, and helped in making breakfast for the kids at school.
She was a supporter of the Seminarians of the Diocese of Peoria, and helped with gardening at The Nazareth House.
She held a special devotion to Mary, our Mother.
A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jude, with Fr. Patrick Henehan officiating.
There will be no visitation prior to the mass.
Friends are invited to share memories after the mass at a luncheon in the Parrish Hall immediately after the mass.
Private burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery later in the day.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Catholic School or the Seminarians of the Peoria Diocese.
