Obituary for Nham "Joseph" Vu

Peoria- Nham Dinh Vu, 85, of Peoria passed away at 5:42 PM on Saturday March 21, 2020 at his home.

On May 1, 1934 Nham was born to Mai Van Si and Dinh Thi Hue. In 1954 Nham married Nhai Vu and they moved to South Vietnam.. He was preceded in death by both parents, one daughter Trang Vu, and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife; ten children, Phuong (Su) Vu of Peoria, Thanh (Hung) Hoang of Peoria, Phan (Tam) Vu of Peoria, Phat (Van) Vu of Kansas City, KS, Samantha (Kiem) Ngo of Peoria, Phann (Thuy) Vu of Lake Saint Louis, MO, Trinh (Ted) Noravong of Kansas City, KS, Brandon Vu of Saint Louis, Phu (Jessica) Vu of Saint Louis, and Phi (Tien) Vu of Peoria. Also surviving are thirty-four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

After Nham and Nhai moved to South Vietnam, they raised their 10 wonderful children for many years. In 1992 Nham and his wife made the incredible journey to move to the United States to be closer to their children. Nham was a very kind and generous man. He was a hard worker and would send money to the Vietnamese charities whenever he could. Throughout his life he was a devout Catholic, never letting his faith waiver. He proudly passed this faith onto his children and grandchildren.

Nham will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A Memorial Mass and celebration of life will take place at a later date.
