Obituaries
Nancy Jean Matousek passed away on September 8, 2023.
Born in Peoria, IL on April 12, 1946, Nancy was raised by her loving parents David and Frances (Bremer) Perkins. She is preceded in death by her parents and her older brother David Perkins, Jr.
Nancy is survived by her loving sister, Patricia Perkins, her devoted husband, Kenneth Matousek, and their children, David (Kate) Matousek and Anne Matousek. She was blessed to have and will be missed by her three grandchildren and her two grand-dogs.
Nancy graduated from the Academy of Our Lady in 1964. She attended Bradley University and graduated with a degree in education. She was an elementary school teacher for Peoria Public School District #150 for 32 years. She married the love of her life, Kenneth, on June 20, 1970. She was a loving mother and wife. She was a dedicated member of St. Philomena Parish in Peoria where she participated with the Parish Life Team, was a Eucharistic Minister, and assisted the parish wherever she could.
The visitation will be at St. Philomena Church (1000 W. Albany Ave.) on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 9:30 am followed by the funeral mass at 10:30 am. Fr. David Richardson will officiate.The burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery (7519 N. Allen Rd.) following the funeral service.
Memorials may be made in Nancy’s name to either St. Philomena Parish or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
