Obituary for Nancy A Trettel

Peoria, IL – Nancy A. Trettel, 69, of Peoria, formerly of New Kensington, PA, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 at OSF Medical Center.
Nancy was born August 2, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Robert and Alba Jean Doloughan. She married Martin A. Trettel, Jr. on October 3, 1964 in Creighton, PA.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Marty, of Peoria, IL ., her daughter Marti Ann (Dr. James R.) Williams of Peoria, IL., three grandchildren, Christian, Cameron, and Isabella Williams of Peoria IL., and her sister-in-law, Lucille Trettel, of Peoria, IL.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Martin and Frances Trettel.
A 1961 graduate of New Kensington High School, Nancy retired two years ago from the law office of Stephen Yakopec, Jr.. Previously, she was employed as the Parish Secretary of St. Joseph Church in New Kensington, PA for over seventeen years, also serving as their CCD Director.
Nancy was a Board Member for the Greater New Kensington Jr. Miss Program and a state rep. for the Pennsylvania Jr. Miss Program for 20 years.
Nancy will be remembered as a caring wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother. She will be remembered for her tenacity and strength as she battled a long illness with bronchiectasis. Nancy was a trusted and loyal friend who will be dearly missed.
Services will be held Saturday, Nov 17, 2012 at 12 p.m., with visitation commencing one hour prior at 11 a.m. at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Peoria. Father David Richardson will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial services will be at a later date in her home state of Pennsylvania.
