Obituary for Mildred H. Moulton

BRIMFIELD-Mildred Hart Moulton, 84 of Brimfield, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born on February 16, 1922 in Frankfort, Indiana to LeRoy and Cecelia Weibers Hart. She married Karl J. Moulton, Sr. on August 14, 1943 in Frankfort, IN. He passed away on December 30, 1997 in Brimfield. She was also preceded in death by one son, George, two sisters and two brothers. Surviving are her children, Maura Moulton of Sycamore, IL, Melanie (Donald) Diederich of Orange, CA, M. Daniele Moulton of Seattle, WA, Karl Jr. (Bess) Moulton of Peoria, Geoffrey (Linda) Moulton of Glenside, PA, Richard (Amy) Moulton of Layton, UT and Thomas (Brendan Fay) Moulton of Astoria, NY; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A Teacher for almost 20 years, Mildred was a Teacher and Reading Specialist at the Brimfield Elementary School. She graduated from the Indiana University in 1943 with a Bachelors Degree. After raising her family, she returned to college to complete her degree in education, earning a Bachelors and Masters Degree from the Illinois State University. She was a life long student. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Brimfield, where she served as a Church Lector. She also was a member of the Peoria Retired Teacher’s Association, Lay Carmelite in Peoria and supported mission work and orphans. A Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Joseph’s Church in Brimfield with Rev. Lawrence P. Morrissey and Rev. William Miller co-celebrating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary with recitation of the rosary at 5p.m. Additional visitation will be one hour before the mass at the church.
