Obituary for Michael Moran
PEORIA ~ Michael R. Moran, 62, of Peoria, passed away at 8:26 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at his residence.
Mike was born June 19, 1960 in Peoria to John and Millie (Johnson) Moran. His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Christina Moran of Metamora; one son, Robert (Kayla) Moran of Peoria; four grandchildren, Jaydon Fisher, Ariya, Johnathan and Elijah Moran; three sisters, Janice Walden, Joni Anderson and Maureen “Reeno” (Chris) Thomas, all of Peoria; and one nephew, Brandon Anderson of St. Louis, Missouri.
Mike was a 22-year cancer survivor.
He had worked as a security alarm installer.
His children and grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a member of Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.). He loved his Harley and dirt track racing. He formerly raced at Peoria Speedway, car #29, where he earned his nickname “Dirtboy”. He also loved guitars.
At Mike’s request, there will be no services at this time. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Heart of Illinois Chapter of B.AC.A.
