Obituary for Maxwell Brian Weinzerl

Peoria - Maxwell Brian Weinzerl, 12, of Peoria, passed away peacefully at the home of his grandparents on Friday, January 28, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Max was born on October 4, 2009 in Peoria to Tyler Weinzerl and Jessica Roberts.
He is survived by his parents; loving grandparents John (Mary Jo) Roberts of Peoria, and Brian (Tracy) Weinzerl of Wyoming, IL; great-grandmother Carol Fairfield of Monica,IL; as well as many caring and adoring aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Cindy Stenger and great-grandparents; Poppy, Great Grandpa Roberts and Grandma Jeannie.
Our sweet Max was a sixth-grade student at Dunlap Middle School in the Life Skills program. He leaves behind his incredibly supportive community in the Dunlap School district – his special classroom buddies, teachers and staff, aides and therapists.
Max will leave a powerful lasting impression on his health care team, including doctors, nurses, assistants, therapists, and first responders. He participated in multiple activities with Easter Seals. He enjoyed countless rides on his AmTryke bike, gifted to him through the Easter Seals Program.
“Monster Max” as he was affectionately known, was an enormously vibrant boy who lit up any room with his infectious smile, contagious laugh, and mischievous dimple. His beautiful big brown eyes with mile-long eyelashes were one of his most endearing qualities. He was as social as they come, and his ability to befriend anyone was admirable. His unending happiness, and love of music and dance were a few of the many ways he brought unforgettable joy to others.
No words can explain the amount of beauty he brought to this world and how very missed he will forever be.
As Maxwell would say, in the words of his favorite girl, Ellen, “BE KIND”
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2022 at St. Mark Catholic Church. Msgr. Brian Brownsey will officiate.
