Obituary for Maxine Schrader

Maxine H. Schrader, 92, of Peoria, passed away at 5:31 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
Maxine was born on October 25, 1919 in Quincy to Lawrence “Jack” and Irene (Schwartz) White. She married F. George Schrader on November 30, 1940 in Peoria. He passed away on August 8, 1994 in Peoria. Also preceding her in death were one grandson, Austin Rogy, and one brother, Larry D. White.
Maxine is survived by one daughter, Linda (Alex) Rogy-Gutierrez of Peoria; one son, Stephen Schrader of Morton; five grandchildren, Nick (Marissa) Rogy, Taylor Rogy, Sammi Jo Rogy, Garrett Gutierrez, and Grant Gutierrez; one great-grandson, Gavin Rogy; one sister, Kathy McElroy of Ursa, IL; and one sister-in-law, Sally White of Quincy.
She was a graduate of Frances School of Cosmetology in Quincy and worked as a beautician.
Maxine was a longtime member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church until she became a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Maxine’s life was devoted to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also enjoyed time with friends, going to movies, going to Cornstock and playing Bingo.
Maxine touched many lives over the years and was dearly loved. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Father Thomas Taylor will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Wright Salmon Mortuary with a recitation of the Rosary at 6:45 p.m. An additional visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans or Multiple Sclerosis Society.
