Obituary for Mary Jean Kelly
Peoria-Mary Jean Kelly, age 90, of Peoria, passed away at 1:05 AM, Monday, April 24, 2017, at Buehler Home in Peoria, IL.
Mary Jean was born June 8, 1926, in Springfield, IL., a daughter of Lawrence and Margaret (Haley) Murray. She married Jerome L. Kelly on July, 31, 1948 in Peoria. He preceded her in death December 30, 1992 in Peoria. Also preceding her was sister, Joanne Murray and two grandchildren; Susan Faletti and Matthew Kelly, Jr.
Mary Jean is survived by three daughters; Molly (Matt) Ryan of Janesville, WI., Jody (Charlie) Faletti of LaSalle, IL., and Katie Korn (Steve Hanna) of Ottawa, IL., four sons; Timothy (DeeDee) Kelly of Naperville, IL., Matthew Kelly of San Antonio, TX., Kevin (Maureen) Kelly of Peoria, IL., and Jerry (Jennifer) Kelly of San Antonio, TX., 19 grandchildren, with one on the way and 10 great-grandchildren with another on the way, and one brother; Thomas Murray of San Antonio, TX.
Mary Jean was a member at St. Philomena Catholic Church and was the first Parish Council President. She loved gardening, Notre Dame University Football, and feeding her grandchildren.
Mary Jean’s family would like to thank the staff at Buehler Home and Dr. Thomas Kouri for their care and friendship.
Visitation will be held 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM, Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Philomena Catholic Church. Father David Richardson will officiate. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum, in Peoria.
Memorials in Mary Jean’s name may be made to St. Philomena Catholic Church or Sisters of St. Francis of the Immaculate Conception Retirement Fund.
