Obituary for Mary Jane Wikoff

BLOOMINGTON – Mary Jane Wikoff, 86, of Bloomington, formerly of Peoria, passed away at 3:52 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014, at her residence. Mary Jane was born July 30, 1927, in Peoria to Thomas and Veronica (Sivley) Murphy. She married Alfred R. Wikoff on April 23, 1949, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Peoria. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1997 in Bonifox, FL. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by three daughters, Patty (John) Kutyna of Pekin, Jane (Kevin) McConnell of Bloomington, and Nancy (Greg) Nelson of McHenry, IL; seven grandchildren, Justin Kutyna, who is in the US Navy serving in Hawaii, Ryan, Matthew and Meghan McConnell of Bloomington, and Brandon, Luke and Brianna Nelson of McHenry, IL; and one brother, Donald (Joetta) Murphy of Peoria. Mary Jane retired from the Peoria County State's Attorney's Office in 1996, where she worked as an administrative assistant to the Victim Witness Program. Prior to that, she was a homemaker and had also worked at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in the Accounts Department for many years. She enjoyed reading, art, and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary Jane was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2014, at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Msgr. Gerald Ward will officiate. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with recitation of the Rosary at 3:45 p.m. An additional visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Bernard Catholic Church. Tributes and condolences may be submitted to
