Obituary for Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Murray
Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Murray, age 85, of Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Beth was born on September 4, 1937 in Belding, MI, a daughter of Alexander and Marcella (Ary) Henseler. She married George W. Murray, Jr on August 23, 1958 in Canton, IL. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2012 in Peoria.
Beth is survived by her children, Brian (Joanne) Murray of Oak Hill, IL and Michelle Larson of Champaign, IL, grandchildren, Lyman, Lauren and Kamryn Larson of Champaign, IL, Robert (Tami) Murray of Kickapoo, Brianne (Brent) Lowder of Brimfield and Alex (Melissa) Murray of Ranchester, WY, great-grandchildren, Lyle, Cash, Jackson, and Mattie Beth, one brother, A.J. Henseler, and 2 sisters, Vickie Kuntzman and Patty Flores. A special thanks from the family goes to her caregiver, Valerie Edwards.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister and 4 brothers.
Beth was a teacher in the Peoria area. She owned and operated Murray’s Jewelers in Peoria. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League, and St. Vincent de Paul Church and very active in CURSILLO.
A Funeral Mass will be at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, with a one hour prior visitation. Fr. Stephen Willard will officiate. Burial will be at Springdale Cemetery at a later date. Cremation Rites will be accorded.
