Obituary for Mary Anne Dawes
Peoria – Mary Anne Dawes, 92, formerly of Peoria, Illinois went on to be with the Lord at 5:20am on Thanksgiving Day November 23, 2017 in Anna, Illinois.
Mary Anne, known as Mimi by friends and family, lived her life to serve others. She was born February 26, 1925 in Eureka, Illinois to Allen C. Ewing and Claudia Payne Ewing. Proceeded in death by her husband I. Jack Dawes, parents, Allen C. and Claudia P. Ewing, brother Allen Ewing, and sister Phyllis Wagner.
Survived by two children Darrell “Corky” (Tammy) Dawes, Brentwood, TN and Kimberly D. Kern, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren Heather (Tabb) Dawes Bushee of Orange Park, Florida, Ashley (Josh) Alley of Anna, Illinois, Dustin Dawes of Nashville, Tennessee; four great grand-children Aubree Bushee, Brooke Bushee, Addyson Alley, and Joshua Hayes Alley.
Mary Anne was a member of the West Bluff Christian Church in Peoria, Illinois. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Peoria Women’s Club. She was a registered Nurse for over 40 years beginning at Methodist Hospital in Peoria and retired from North Shore Hospital in Miami Shores, Florida as the Assistant Director of Nurses.
Services will be held at 1pm on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm prior to the service. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
